The Centre is expected to open in 2025, and will bring together cutting-edge research and industry partnerships from the University of Exeter and the University of Plymouth. This exciting project will position Appledore and Torridge at the forefront of clean energy generation and clean marine propulsion, bringing well-paid and highly-skilled employment to the area, as well as new opportunities for local businesses to innovate.
The Centre will also support the Petroc College to increase its range of maritime courses, and will bring University research outposts to Torridge, providing a wealth of benefits for the local community.
The Appledore Clean Maritime Innovation Centre project is set to drive economic growth, create high-paying jobs, and promote prosperity not just in the region but for the entire country. It will expand the region’s capabilities and provide opportunities for more collaboration with major industrial partners and their supply chains.
